When lighting your candle for the first time, allow the wax to melt all the way to the sides of the container.

The first burn of the candle should be approx 2-3 hours. This should prevent tunneling and will also give you maximum fragrance and an even burn.

The first time you light your candle sets the stage for how well the candle will perform throughout its lifetime. Candle wax has a memory. This means that your candle remembers where it is burnt up to on that first burn and will only ever burn up to the point it was last extinguished. This is called tunneling.

Always trim your wick to 6-8mm before relighting. This will minimise soot & remove any mushrooming. Please do not to over trim your wick as you may not be able to re-light your candle.

If you do not trim the wick regularly, if the candle is in a draft or is left to burn too long you may get a “mushroom” on the end of the wick which may cause some soot to collect on the inside of the glass. If this happens, extinguish your candle, wait for it to cool, wipe off soot with a damp cloth and relight.

Never burn your candle for more than 3 hours. Burning a candle for too long will cause carbon to collect on the wick, leading it to “mushroom.” The wick will then become unstable and produce a dangerously large flame and will start to smoke and release soot. If this does happen simply extinguish the flame, trim your wick and relight.

Please remember these candles are hand poured in small batches, not massed produced in a factory by machines. Although all effort is made to ensure consistency, every candle will be unique and different.

The top of your candle may also appear slightly uneven & there may be some wax irregularities (such as bubbling or unevenness) after burning. this is also a sign of natural soy wax being hand poured. This does not affect the candle.

• Always burn within sight. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
• Keep away from children, pets and flammable materials.
• Never move a burning candle. Ensure candle is extinguished, wax is solid and jar is cold before handling.
• Stop burning when 13mm of un-melted wax remains in the bottom of the container. This prevents the vessel from overheating and cracking.
• Vessles may become hot, therefore please burn candle on an appropriate flat heat-resistant surface.
